The teen market is growing rapidly all over the world and the competition
for teens’ attention is fierce and evolving. According to the census report, there are over
30 million teens in the United States alone and over 600,000,000
in the world. With a significant
amount of income at their discretion, (part time jobs, monetary
gifts from parents and families, allowances’, etc), teenagers
of today have the strongest spending power in generations.
Their interest is directed towards a wide variety of categories:
clothing, CD’s, video games, audio/video equipment, jewelry, hair
and skin care products, cosmetics, sporting goods, food, drinks,
snacks, to name only a few. Teens are active consumers in terms of the
money they spend, as well as in the influence they exercise in
their families and on societal trends.
With all the
places to advertise today, the question is arising: are social
networking sites and viral marketing the best ways to reach this
lucrative market? Has traditional media already been replaced
by new media consumption? According
to the Nielson Company, teens are simply making time for both.
Teen-2-Teen [T2T]
international magazine represents teenagers’ work, and encourages
teens to read. Contributors and readers of Teen-2-Teen [T2T] magazine (13-19 years old boys
and girls), are building a multitalented and multicultural global
Teen community. The opportunity presented by [T2T] opens
the doors to those who have been published before and to those
with hidden talents that have never had a chance to share.
The magazine is targeting both genders equally.
Teens will have a chance to be a part of the Advertising
Department, where they will participate in an Ad Design Contest.
Their work will be presented to the companies, who will
choose the best ad to be printed in [T2T]
magazine. They will also
get involved in cover and page layouts design as well as editing
of the submitted materials. Teenagers
will approach companies to advertise in their magazine.
Distribution
The print copies
will be distributed to public and private schools, home schooled
teens, libraries, teen’s organizations, such as Boys and Girls
Clubs, Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, domestic and International YMCA,
